What makes something alive? Why do you look like your relatives but not exactly like them? How does your body turn food into energy? Why do some organisms survive when their environments change while others disappear?
In Intro to Biology, students will investigate the basic science of life. We will explore cells, body systems, energy, ecosystems, genetics, and evolution through hands-on activities, models, experiments, discussion, and short investigations.
The course is designed as an accessible introduction for youth new to biology while also building the vocabulary, concepts, scientific reasoning, and data-reading skills for a strong foundation in scientific thinking.
No previous biology experience is required.
