Holyoke is an interesting piece of history - it's one of the first planned industrial cities in the United States, and was intentionally laid out on a grid system. This grid results in some truly amazing lines of sight that can be found as we move around the city.

In this workshop, we will explore the city, its history, and the grid system through photography. We will use the grid system as both a compositional tool, and a challenging creative limit - every image we make must contain some element of the grid system.

Cameras are provided in this class. All classwork happens during the school day; cameras from this class do not go home with students.

Limited to 6 participants; previous photography experience is preferred, but may not be required - please speak to the instructor before signing up if you do not yet feel comfortable using a DSLR camera in Manual mode.
